Celebrating LGBT Community
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender are all around us. But the question is why not with us? Why even in 21st century where we call ourselves modern and open minded, they are not treated as humans? Why the world where we live and the society we make, rules them out? A million questions arise and we are either lying to ourselves or are disabled to answer.
Where there is a man there is a society. And where there is society there are standards. Well, in India these standards are sometimes baseless. They are set upon on the basis of religion, caste, creed, gender, money and many more. Gender discrimination is so deeply rooted in our lives and so hammered in our brains that if try to brainwash them, the society will wash you out. In India people are homosexual phobic. They don’t accept rather are not willing to accept the LGBT community. The teachings and preaching since ages has a surreal impact which is threating the mental health to the LGBT Community. It has very woeful imprints on young minds.
The most precious feeling for a human is being accepted happily. But the LGBT community has to face unnecessary rage, anger, disrespect and discourtesy. People intentionally or unintentionally throw a shade at them. Their emotional health deteriorates, mental health retards, hesitation crepts in. To shame and name the society will link. Saying so, we’ll observe that the younger generation is very much open minded, accepting and rational. But the older people aren’t welcoming to this concept. For them being a gay or a lesbian is a crime and is awful. For them it is just a western concept that people fall prey of. They never understand the emotions and how much that people invest just to lead a happy and satisfactory life.
Mindset of people needs to change. We are heading towards a new dawn every day. Love, respect and treating them equally is all what they want. They have rights to be happy and free. Double standards of the society need to change. Vikram Seth, Gauri Sawant, Manvendra Singh Gohil, Sonal Gaini, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, set an example for being fearless. Homosexuality must be celebrated with pride and honour.
